Let's Have Coffee and Talk About Art Education
Sunday, February 19, 2017
12:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Phoenix Village Art Center
207 Bridge Street, Phoenixville, PA
Art education is an important topic now, more than ever. It's important to understand why art education is so important to today's students. Whether a formal education, informal courses, or self-taught, we've all had some kind of art education that not only gave us the tools we use to create, but also inspired us. This ties in with the amazing exhibit of art by students and teachers, now on display in the Gallery of the Phoenix Village Art Center. The works of 69 highly talented artists from these 4 schools are on display:
Downingtown High School
Kimberton Waldorf School
Methacton High School
Perkiomen Valley High School
Phoenixville High School
We hope to have some of these students and teachers joining us to share their thoughts and views, as well as tell us about the artwork they entered into the exhibit.

I'm pleased to announce that Coffee Talks is expanding to include second meeting in conjunction with the exhibit in the Phoenix Village Art Center's Annex at the Phoenix Village Apartments. This new meeting will take place once per quarter and will feature the exhibiting artist. This first meeting will take place on Sunday, February 26th at 1:00 PM and will feature guest artist Molly Light whose abstract paintings are inspired by color! Coffee and light fare will be provided. We hope you'll join us!
A Coffee Talk is where the artist(s) from the current monthly exhibit come together with others in the community to discuss their exhibited work, and other art concepts. The Art center and Artist(s) provide coffee, tea, and snacks to enjoy during discussion. Coffee Talks are always on the 3rd Sunday of the month, from 12 to 2 pm.
