Fit creativity into your busy life with Flex-Class. Sign up for a course – if you need to miss a class, or want to change your course, use remaining Flex-Class slots for other classes the following session at the Phoenix Village Art Center.

Flex-Classes carry over from the fall to the winter session, so you can use them to make art and suit your own schedule over time.

Children and Teen Arts & Crafts Classes

NEW! Open Ceramics Studio
The newly renovated ceramic studio is open to students on Tuesday and Thursdays from 4:30 until 7:00. A studio tech is available for consultation and guidance. Practice new skills at your own pace. This is a great way to meet other ceramics artists and students, while learning your way around the studio.
FREE for students currently enrolled in a ceramics course at the art center
$10 for members • $12 for nonmembers

Kids and Clay with Makeda Marley
Explore the world of clay! Make sculpture and pottery using oil-based clay, ceramic clay and model magic. Have fun learning the properties of the clay, the additive and subtractive sculpture methods, and hand building ceramic techniques.
All ceramic work will be glazed and fired. Add a $10 materials fee.

Thursday (ages 10-14) 4:30-6:00
10 weeks: September 15 thru November 17

2-D Drawing and Design
Using the basic Elements of Art: line, shape, form, space, texture, value and color, your child explores the world of art. Beginning each class with a right brain exercise, children learn how to view their surroundings through their artist eye. Mediums used include pencil, charcoal, paint and cut paper.
Monday (ages 6-9) 4:30-6:00

Wednesday (ages 10-12) 4:30-6:00
10 weeks: September 14 thru November 16

Cartooning with Brooke Steytler
Work with a professional cartoonist and graphic designer to create your own original characters. Create a unique story board with cartoon scenes and accessories. Each student receives their own sketch book, to develop ideas and practice at home.
Saturday mornings 10:00 to 11:30 Ages 10 and up
10 weeks: September 17 thru November 19

Portfolio Review
Are you applying to an art school that requires a portfolio? Call the art center to schedule a personal review. We will provide a professional artist to critique your portfolio. Find out what you can do improve the selection and presentation of your work to open doors to your future.
Free for any teen attending classes at the Phoenix Village Art Center.

Use Flex-Class packs to pay for Adult Art Classes at Phoenix Village Art Center.

With Flex-Classes you attend when you can, and save unused Flex-Classes for the following season.
How Flex-Class works
Purchase Flex-Classes in packs good for classes or workshops of your choice.
Should you miss a class you can make it up the following session’s classes.
FLEX CLASSES are valid for one additional session after original purchase
(For Example: Flex Classes purchased Sept 12th are valid until March 16th)
